POLSKA! YEAR
Inhabitants of Northern Ireland will have the opportunity to take part in a series of cultural events showing Poland as a modern and creative country. The programme of the festival includes: recital of the Varsovia Piano Trio in Stormont – seat of the Parliament of Northern Ireland (inauguration of the festival), classical music
Friday 6th May - Concert of the Varsovia Piano Trio in St. Anne’s Cathedral.
Exhibition of Polish political posters at Linen Hall Library, photography exhibition 802% of Target Delivery.
Early Years of Nowa Huta – by the Visavis.pl photography collective
Film review Polish People’s Republic: a Land of the Absurd at Queen’s Film Theatre, film screening Emilka Płacze [Emilka’s Crying] followed by a meeting and discussion with the director, Rafał Kapeliński.
Location: Belfast / Golden Thread Gallery
The exhibition organised in cooperation with the Arsenal Gallery from Białystok will include works by Polish contemporary artists, such as Zbigniew Libera, Daniel Rumiancew, Janek Simon, Azorro Supergroup, and Tomasz Mróz.

The exhibition presents the art of Polish contemporary artists, such as Elżbieta Jabłońska, Oskar Dawicki, Joanna Rajkowska, and Julita Wójcik. Ormeau Baths is one of the most interesting and important contemporary art galleries in Northern Ireland. The exhibition is part of the Polish Cultural Week in Belfast.
The next edition of the festival as part of Polska! Year will take place in 2010. The main organiser of the festival is Artlink Belfast.
