CALLING ALL RIB OWNERS – KITERS NEED YOUR SUPPORT September
Northern Ireland Kite Challenge - Cross the Irish Sea for Charity http://www.kitechallenge.com
Fifteen or more kiters are planning to cross the Irish Sea from Ballywalter/NI to Port Logan/Scotland. A RIB style boat is required for each Kiter, to act as support / safety boat on the crossing. The Kiters envisage each boat containing a minimum amount of people on board.
For the NI to Scotland trip - A driver and a spotter. A Kiter will also be on each boat, to instruct on how to launch / land kites in deep water etc.
For the Scotland to NI trip - A driver, spotter, first Kiter and the Kiter who has made the trip to Scotland. The intention is for a Lead Boat and at least one extra boat to act as support/rescue in the event that one of the other boats break down.
The number of boat owners volunteering to assist in acting as support will dictate how many Kiters can do the crossing. The greater the number of Kiters taking part in this event the more money can be raised for charity.
Please contact Al Bennett if you would like to be a part of the Kite Challenge 2009 trip from Ballywalter/Northern Ireland to Port Logan/Scotland and back. Please indicate your support by emailing your name, address, contact details and boat information to al.bennett@me.com
